At age six, Susan B. Anthony moved with her family to eastern New York.  This book covers her school years and her the events that affected her family before they moved to Rochester, NY.
Read from one cover, and the book is about Anthony. Turn it over and start with the other cover about Frederick Douglass.
The Freedom Heroes Project began in Rochester, New York, at a Literacy Summit in November, 2006.  The goal was to create a book that could be distributed to Rochester area’s third-grade students. When Nancy Fabry, a reading specialist, suggested involving students in the creation of the book, the project became known as the Rochester Freedom Heroes Book Contest. The Susan B. Anthony House was proud to be a part of this wonderful project.
